I will join the HKU Business School as an Assistant Professor of Economics in Fall 2027, after a year at MIT CEEPR as a Postdoctoral Associate.
I am an applied economist interested in environmental and energy economics as well as empirical industrial organization. I study how policy, regulatory institutions, and market structure influence the energy sector broadly, with a particular focus on investment. My current work examines challenges in energy infrastructure development, focusing on infrastructure permitting, electricity grid interconnection, and transmission planning in the United States, and their implications for environmental sustainability.
I received my Ph.D. in Applied Economics from University of Wisconsin–Madison AAE in 2026 and earned my B.S. from University of California–Berkeley in 2020.
